Inspiring the Future

We were pleased to attend the Sheringham High School 'Inspiring the Future' Careers event on Thursday 19 December. The event was designed as part of the School's Careers Education programme for Year 9 students who will be choosing their GCSE subjects in March next year. They are trying to give them a flavour of the kind of skills they need for today's job market. They also want to motivate them to work hard and achieve their best results in order to maximise their choices and opportunities.

"The initial feedback from the students and School staff was very positive," said Rachel Blackburn.

Supporting Red Balloon

For the second year running we were pleased to support Red Balloon Learner Centres charity with their fundraising event in Norwich.

The aim of Red Balloon is the recovery of bullied children. They provide an 'intensive care' full-time education for children aged between 9-18 who are unable to go to school because they have been severely bullied or who have suffered trauma, such as the death of a parent, abuse, rape or some other experience that makes them particularly vulnerable. At least half of the students they take have attempted or seriously considered suicide.

US2U Consulting donated the use of a urn for the mulled wine and Rachel Blackburn read a poem she had written, titled 'The Festive Season in Norfolk'.

"We were pleased that US2U Consulting were able to support us and we really liked the poem!" said Dan Kelly, Chair of Trustees.

The delegation comprised staff from universities as well as privately owned learning and development companies.

Green Award for client ABC Taxis from Norwich

We were proud to attend the Rev Active Awards ceremony with Simon Callender, Director of ABC Taxis, as he was presented with the award as the winner of the Green Product or Process Award.

US2U Consulting brought Rev Active and ABC Taxis together to achieve the environmental goals that we had agreed as part of the ABC Taxis strategic business plan. Established in Norwich in 1994, ABC Taxis received REV ACTIVE grant support to invest in eco‐cars, significantly reducing their carbon footprint and dramatically reducing costs. ABC have gone further though, acting as champions for low carbon business, encouraging their own customers and rebranding themselves from “ABC Taxis: Going to Gold” to “ABC Taxis: Going Greener”. The Company has launched a new low-carbon product and successfully differentiated itself in a competitive market through its exemplary green credentials.
