For the third consecutive year US2U Consulting supported the Norfolk Recruitment Awards and sponsored the flowers.
It was a glitzy, black tie evening and everyone had a great night. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists. Despite some difficult trading conditions the outlook of the industry was forward looking, taking a positive approach towards 2009.
It was good to be able to support and sponsor the flowers at the Norfolk Recruitment Awards for the second year running.
A superb night was had by all, especially by our team at US2U Consulting as we confirmed our first recruitment assignment that same day.
We have recently launched a management development initiative in Canada for one of our clients. We anticipate that this initiative is the first of many global assignments.
Demonstrating the diversity of our projects, we have recently researched, designed and planned an academic focused programme of learning and development for the management team from one of our clients.
The launch presentation was attended by all participants where we enjoyed a delicious dinner together with the Challenger, Entrepreneur and Record Breaker Richard Noble OBE who we organised at short notice.
The sky was blue and the sun was shining as we delivered an outdoor teambuilding session for one of our clients.
After tailoring the day to match the exact needs we arrived with whistles, blindfolds, eggs to mention just a few things. Everyone involved enjoyed the day immensely, thought it was a very positive experience and it has strengthened relationships in the team.
In June we saw an article in the local paper about SuperSports Kidz Club, a charity based in Norwich that runs various sporting events for children with physical disabilities. They were looking for sponsors to assist in paying for training and travel as from September the Norwich Lowriders, its basketball team, will play for the first time in the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association.
We decided that we should support this local charity and so on Saturday 2 August some of the team went along to present a cheque for £500.
Sue Coombe, the club’s co-co-ordinator said: “This will certainly be a fantastic boost to our club, and especially to our wheelchair basketball team, which we set up just two years ago. We are currently in the process of joining the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association Junior League. This means so much to the children, as they will get to play competitively for the first time against other teams from across the UK.”
Mark Sommerville, Training Manager for Anglia Crown, part of the leading UK fresh and prepared produce group Bakkavor, was the proud winner of the ipod Shuffle awarded from our 2nd Birthday campaign prize draw. “This is first prize I have won in my entire life!” commented Mark as he faced the challenge of getting to grips with his new gadget recognising that he is still learning to use his mobile phone!
On Sunday 4 May 2008 Rachel Blackburn completed the 5km Race for Life for Cancer Research UK in about 32 minutes. Thanks to all the sponsors.
The date was 1st April 2008 and while others might have been thinking of practical jokes, the team at US2U Consulting were celebrating their 2nd Birthday. The team gathered together to have a celebratory lunch and discuss plans for the next 12 months.
To everyone who has supported us over the last 2 years we send a sincere thank you. We look forward to the next year of achieving success together.
